Established in 1942 as a private, not-for-profit association, Resorts of Ontario has grown to represent nearly 100 member resorts, lodges, cottages, and country inns. Sustainable Tourism Matters to Us

That’s why we’re committed to sustainable tourism and supporting local communities to ensure that the experiences we provide are environmentally responsible.

Thus far, our commitment has involved taking the GreenStep program pledge. To this end, we have made significant strides through transitioning to a paperless remote work environment.

In 2023 we also worked with Forests Ontario on a tree-planting initiative, and will be revisiting this as part of our 2025 work plan.

We make every effort to include resorts that are stewards for the land. This extends to protecting surrounding forestry, responsible electrical use, fresh water protection, responsible fishing practices, and other efficiencies directly related to sustainability.
