What to do with the warmer weather
If you are like most people the recent onset of spring might have you feeling more energized then you did throughout the winter months. You could be going through that reawakening period as the days get longer and warmer. The drier conditions of March and the first 2 weeks of April, have bumped up the start of seasonal activities by a week or more.
Golf courses are opening across the province on a daily basis (some have already been open for a few weeks.) You might be feeling more inspired after watching Phil Mickalson win the Masters this past weekend in Augusta or maybe you have been itching to get out for a round all winter. Whatever the case may be, resorts are ready to book you stay and tee time.
Hardwood Ski and Bike, near Carriage Ridge Resort and Horseshoe Resort opened this past weekend for mountain bikers to get an early jump on their riding season. This is certainly one of the top places to ride for mountain bike enthusiasts in Ontario. Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood is also set to open to downhill riders. For those looking for an added rush you can try your skills by riding from the top of the escarpment (Blue Mountain) down to the base of the hill, it is sure to be a rush you won't soon forget.
With spring also comes the ice out and that means open water fishing and swimming are on the horizon. The water may be a little cold for swimming but is perfect for casting a line and catching that "monster fish" of a lifetime. Ontario is home to 250,000 fresh water lakes and most of the Resorts of Ontario resorts are right next to the water's edge so even if you don't like fishing the views alone make the trip worth it.
